Foundation for Appalachian Ohio
Founded in 1999, the mission of the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio is to enrich the current and future quality of life in the 29 counties of Appalachian Ohio by fostering access to opportunity. 

Area Served: This foundation gives primarily in the Ohio counties designated as Appalachian by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC). For a list of these counties, visit the ARC website.

Emphasis:The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio includes a variety of funds with a range of funding interests. This foundation is particularly interested in projects that provide support for Appalachian Ohioan's educational efforts. A recent mini-grant program defined this broadly to include projects related to health, nutrition, physical activities and programs promoting wellness; early-childhood, school-readiness and pre-kindergarten programming; after-school and summer learning programs; classroom enrichment activities; workforce training and development; and college access and retention. Grant Information: In 2007, this foundation gave out over $125,000 in grants, with most awards ranging from $3,000 - $5,000.
