Foundation for the Tri-State Community
Established in 1972, the mission of the Foundation for the Tri-State Community is to improve the quality of life in the community by raising, encouraging, administering and distributing gifts for charitable, educational and scientific purposes.

Area Served: This foundation focuses its giving on Lawrence County, Ohio; two counties in Kentucky (Boyd and Greenup); and two counties in West Virginia (Campbell and Wayne).

Emphasis:
 The Foundation for the Tri-State Community, Inc. encourages project proposals with the following goals:

Using community resources to promote coordination, cooperation and sharing among organizations to eliminate duplicate services.

Testing or demonstrating new approaches and techniques in the solution of important community problems.

Promoting community volunteerism.

Strengthening non-profit agencies and institutions by reducing operating costs, increasing public financial support, and/or improving internal management.

Grant Information: In 2007, the Foundation for the Tri-State Community awarded more than $600,000 in grants, most in amounts ranging from $500 to $5,000. A list of recently funded projects is available of the Foundation for the Tri-State Community website.
